Single string check
| Burst rating (Barlow, 87.5% wall) | 6,865 psi | |
| Burst load at surface | 3,152 psi | |
| Burst safety factor | 2.18 | passes vs 1.1 |
| Collapse load at shoe | 4,160 psi | |
| Collapse safety factor | 1.14 | passes vs 1 |
| Buoyed string weight | 318.6 klbf | |
| Tension safety factor | 3.41 | passes vs 1.6 |
- Burst rating = 0.875 · 2 Y_p t / D (API 5C3 internal yield). Collapse and tension ratings are what you typed from the pipe data sheet.
- Burst load: shoe pore pressure with a gas column to surface (your gas gradient), no external backup — a conservative surface case.
- Collapse load: full evacuation inside, mud hydrostatic outside at the shoe. Tension: buoyed air weight, factor 1 − MW/65.5; no shock, bending or overpull.
- Design factors are your company's; the defaults (1.1 / 1.0 / 1.6) are common practice, not a standard.
