How each vendor’s score is computed
Every cell in the matrix contributes a weight based on its mark: ✓ full = 1.0, ⚠ partial = 0.5, ✗ missing = 0.0. Cells marked — N/A are removed from both the numerator and the denominator, so a vendor is never penalised for capabilities we could not verify against a public source or that fall outside their stated scope.
- Score % = weighted points ÷ counted rows — grade on the apples-to-apples subset.
- Coverage % = counted rows ÷ total rows — how much of the matrix actually applies to that vendor.

Why these numbers don’t drift between releases
The underlying matrix is locked by a regression suite (competitorMatrixRegression.test.ts). It pins the exact row count, the row IDs, the competitor column order, the four sanctioned cell tokens (Y / P / N / —), and a byte-level SHA-256 hash of the CSV export. Any accidental edit — a re-ordered vendor, a duplicated row, an unsanctioned mark, a stray whitespace — fails CI before it can ship. That means the score you see above can only move when someone deliberately edits CAPABILITY_ROWS or COMPETITORS and updates the pinned snapshot in the same commit.
Methodology & sources
Capabilities are coded with four marks: ✓ full, ⚠ partial (covered with known limitations or in beta), ✗ missing, and — N/A or unverified. We do not mark a competitor ✗ for a capability we cannot verify against a public source — those become — with a footnote so visitors can request a correction.
